Hmm...just as I'm about to buy my own Macbook, a lazy Sunday trawl through the interwebs shows some rumours of a new thinner, shinier Macbook that may or may not be announced sometime in the near future, or next year, or never.
Now normally I'm pragmatic about this kind of stuff and generally resistant to buyer's remorse. If the only change was a faster processor or more hard disk, then I wouldn't have a problem, but boy would I be completely gutted if I bought a Macbook next week and watch Apple launch a complete replacement.
The problem is, of course not helped by the fact that I'm currently without a laptop (well a proper one - I've got a 5 year old Dell ultraportable that only works when plugged into the mains, but that doesn't really count).
So, really struggling with what to do - probably wait until OS X 10.5 (leopard) is released and see if anything is announced.

damn - me too! Sebina wants one and I was thinking about a MBP. I think I will wait til Leopard as well...
well you could buy a standard windows laptop at futureshop, use it for one month, then return it to the store. (until the new macbook is released)

We got shiny new aluminum keyboards today. First thing when I saw them was thinking that the new Mac laptops will be like that.
If they are coming with Leopard? You bet so. Christmas, iPhone, Leopard, what a better time to offer a new brand designed laptop? Apple is going to get so much buzz that they could sell wine if they wanted to. iWine, and Gin too. :-)

And yeah - the iDrunk (tm) range could be a big Xmas seller. I'm having a hard time stopping myself buying a Macbook right now though...must wait..must wait...

They are quite good, very Apple, really nice touching feeling, the right shortcuts, look really good, and I guess ash will have a harder time to get hidden under the keys.
But the really cool thing is the iPod touch. Tim got it, and man, the interface is amazing. Kind of same thing, should I wait for the iPhone or should I get the iPod touch?
Maybe the answer is get frozen as Cartman did waiting for the Wii.
